Around Pirin Golf & Country Club
 
Pirin Golf and Country Club is located in an easily accessible area, recently recognised by NASA as one the cleanest eco-friendly locations in Europe. Bansko Razlog valley in Bulgaria lays at 925-1000 m. above sea level.
Bansko , 2 miles from the golf is a small Bulgarian town in Southwestern Bulgaria with population of over 6000. It is located in Bansko - Razlog valley at the foothills of Pirin Mountain - a natural preserve on the World Natural Heritage , 150 km (2 hours’ drive) from the Bulgarian capital , Sofia and 120 km (1,5 hours' drive) from the Greek Aegean sea shores. Bansko is fast becoming European class ski resort.
The mountains Pirin , Rila and Rhodopi - pristine and densely forested with pine are the major natural asset, attracting hundreds of thousands of holidaymakers.
The mountains: Pirin mountains on the edge of the Pirin Golf & Country Club are protected by law as National Park. The high mountain area – above 1700 m is UNESCO protected area. The park spreads on the impressive 40,000 ha with 80 peaks above 2500 m., 180 glacier lakes and preserved wildlife including chamois and eagles to name some. Pirin has over 100 km. of marked hiking trails.
Rila mountains to the North create a backdrop of incredible beauty and hide a numerous interesting places to visit and enjoy. With rivers streaming down, full of brown trout it is an anglers paradise still undiscovered.
Rhodopi mountains to the east roll gentle, pine covered slopes with villages built in 19 c. authentic architecture and tranquil daily life.

Heritage and places of interest: There are numerous interesting places to see and visit nearby, dating centuries back in history.
Bansko is a Renaissance Bulgarian town tucked away at the foot of the Pirin Mountains, which boasts many historical monuments and museums. The Holly Trinity Church (19 c.) in the centre of town, Shipotsko place - an early Christian basilica, Kaljata place – an ancient Tracian fortress and necropolis (2-3 c. A.C.) and Sveti Ivan place with Thracian sanctuary (4 c. A.C.) are few to be named from the long list of national heritage sites in close proximity.
There are many churches in the area wilth well preserved frescoes from the 18-19 c. with some exceptional pieces of Renaissance art like the church in the village of Dobarsko.
Food and drink : Bansko town alone has more than 150 local restaurants (mehana) , serving local specialities like kapama and sach, while the new modern hotels offer European cuisine restaurants. Quality beer (lager) is served for 50 p. /pint and a bottle of decent red wine will be on your table for 6 pounds.
